Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Ram
A film about compassion that most critics could not forgive for using AI-made images to say it.

Dorothy
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Karthik Subbaraj
Karthik Subbaraj at his bravest and his most divisive. Two extraordinary performances in a story that softens nothing.

Meesaya Murukku 2
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi
A real subject — who gets to be taken seriously in music — handled with speeches instead of a story.

The Paradise
Telugu · 2026 · Dir. Srikanth Odela
Nani gives it everything and the film gives him almost nothing back. A strong idea buried under three hours of noise.

Sardar 2
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. P. S. Mithran
Karthi is good in both roles. The film around him is an hour too long and never finds the tension the first Sardar had.

Mandaadi
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Mathimaran Pugazhendhi
The boat races are genuinely exciting and Soori is excellent. Everything that happens on land is much weaker.

Hi
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Vishnu Edavan
A likeable, easy-going romance that runs on its two leads rather than its script.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups
Kannada · 2026 · Dir. Geetu Mohandas
It looks stunning. The story is a mess.

Modha Rathri
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Raja Karuppasamy
A warm, funny, sharply observed wedding-night comedy from a first-time director who clearly knows this world. Uneven in the second half, and worth your time anyway.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit
Malayalam · 2026 · Dir. Girish A. D.
The most enjoyable film of the month. It wins on charm, not on new ideas.

Irumudi
Telugu · 2026 · Dir. Shiva Nirvana
Ravi Teja plays it quiet for once, and it is the most interesting thing he has done in years.

Insidious: Out of the Further
English · 2026 · Dir. Jacob Chase
A fresh start for the series, with just enough new ideas to justify itself.

Vishwanath & Sons
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Venky Atluri
Suriya is excellent and the first half earns its emotion. The second half throws it away.

Awarapan 2
Hindi · 2026 · Dir. Nitin Kakkar
Emraan Hashmi is having a great time. The script is not keeping up with him.

DC
Tamil · 2026 · Dir. Arun Matheswaran
A sad gangster story, and a director who turns out to be a good actor.
Based on 3 published reviews · Aug 28, 2026
Ayogya 2
Kannada · 2026 · Dir. S. Mahesh Kumar
A comfortable sequel that gives fans of the first film exactly what they came for, and nothing more.
